The 2012 NBA All-Star Weekend continued with Saturday night’s events, which featured the Foot Locker 3-point Shootout09 Dec 13 - 00:34
The 2012 NBA All-Star Weekend continued with Saturday night’s events, which featured the Foot Locker 3-point Shootout, Taco Bell Skills Challenge, All-Star Shooting Nike Free 3.0 V2 Stars Competition, and the headlining act, the Sprite Slam Dunk Contest. There was plenty of sneaker action to take notice, beginning with the insane space-themed PEs of the Nike Zoom Hyperdunk 2011 (and a Low version), Nike Zoom Hyperfuse 2011, and the Nike Zoom Brave V (worn by Tony Parker) spotted during the Skills Competition. During the three-point shootout, James Jones wore a White/Red/Yellow colorway of LeBron 9, while runner-up Kevin Durant wore the KD 5 ‘Dragon’ on one foot and the Grey/Yellow on the other. Paul George got creat5e by making himself glow in the dark while rocking the Air Flight One NRG during his spectacular dunk. It’s hard not to g5e the top sneaker spot to one of the contemporary sneaker releases spotted during the night, but that prized label goes to Allan Houston, the former New York Knick who teamed up with Landry Fields and Cappie Pondexter during the Shooting Stars Competition; the former Nike athlete, who wore some sick PEs back in the day, wore the Nike Air Flightposite 3, which conveniently fit in with the ‘space travel’ theme due to its funky alien-like panels on the upper. The Nike Air Classic BW has played itself into a nice groove in early 2012, this year’s models displaying an uncommonly sharp attention to the potential to blend its 21 year-old lines with the styles that dominate the ‘lifestyle’ corner of the sneaker market. This new pair in white with Wolf Grey trim is an excellent choice for a white summertime go-to, its orange branding a reminder that around the time the ‘Cool Grey’ Air Free Run X2 hits retailers next month, this is going Nike Free 4.0 V2 to be one of the hottest palettes in all of sneaker/streetwear culture. Get ahead of the curve and adopt this style before you get your Twelves, this new Air Classic BW available for the taking from Caliroots.
Vans is celebrating twenty years producing Steve Nike Free Run 3.0 V5 Caballero’s ‘second’ signature sneaker, a model he created himself by scissoring-off the top portion of the OG Caballero hightop’s ankle collar. Off the Wall even issued duct tape-collared 20th Ann5ersary Half Cabs in tribute to Steve’s original ‘design’, teamed up to drop a few collabo designs and is gradually releasing more pairs like this one pictured above to fill in the rest. These 20th ann5ersary Vans Half Cabs come in a rich forest green suede that’s contrasted by white laces/sole and a black liner, and you’ll find them available at the best Off the Wall retailers including their DQM-co-headlined store in New York, The General.
The first set of Nike Blazer Low Suede Vintage colorways released this July in some appropriately patriotic colorways, but what shold we expect from Nike Sportswear now that the red-white-and-blue holidays are out of the way? How about a couple of new pairs that manage a nice balance between the autumn falling leaves and October’s favorite holiday. The Dark Copper and Sable Green depart from the VNTG Blazer line’s traditional white tongue and laces like the upcoming Highs, and like the upcoming Prism Pink edition, they now carry a Premium designation. Check them out in more detail after the jump and look for these now at NSW dealers like Size?
