Devin Hester has a history with notable cleats (anyone remember his Zoom Huarache 2K4 PE cleats from the Super Bowl XLI touchdown?), but the relat5e rarity with which Sneaker News covers NFL footwear Air Max 87 Mens Shoes and gear, the NFL’s all-time leading returner hasn’t managed a single mention.  That ended when ‘Anytime’ got into a Twitter battle with teammate Earl Bennett that resulted in an extens5e look though Hester’s collection of kicks from that ‘other’ Chicago number 23.  Hester’s Air Free Run collection follows a trajectory familiar to many who’ve been collecting over the past decade or so: plenty of 3s through X5s with a few hybrids, trainers and Melos sprinkled in.  We see an emphasis on Threes and the second three-peat, along with all of this year’s Air Free Run X Retros (plus a couple other familiar favorites) and a single pair of Air Force 1s tossed in for good measure.  Check out the entire spread after the jump and let us know where they rank against other athletes’ and similarly well-off folks’ extens5e varieties.

With this year marking two decades since the original Dream Team debuted, we can expect plenty of retro goodness from both Nike Sportswear and Free Run Brand.  Keep an eye out for a variety of classic Olympic looks from NSW, as well as tons of Air Free Run Retro heat from JB, including one of the original Air Max 90 colorways from 1992.  The Air Free Run 7 Retro ‘Charcoal’ is sometimes called ‘Raptor’ for its use of a Toronto-style color scheme, but this model’s debut three years before Canada’s only remaining NBA squad means that the name doesn’t perfectly fit the original.  Fitting, then, that the 2012 retro is looking more like the DMP release we got in 2009 with its pronounced tonality, than the more uniformly sueded OGs.  Regardless of the nickname, these are destined for Nike Free Run 5.0 V2 another return later this year, but do you still have your pair from three years ago?  Let us know when you click through to see more of this September drop, and stick with Sneaker News for all of the 2012 Air Free Run Retro release dates.  via US11
