It’s the magical aura of New York City that brings out the extra ‘umph’ from within

It’s the magical aura of New York City that brings out the extra ‘umph’ from within. Ask any baller and he or she will attest to “bringing it” whenever a pick-up game is about the go down, and with several proving Nike Free Run 3.0 V4 grounds on NYC soil like the Rucker, Dyckman, and West 4th leading up Nike Free Run 3.0 V3 to the true epicenter of hooping history at Madison Square Garden, New York City is the undisputed ‘mecca’ of the game. Michael Jordan seems to agree, as he’s brought “it” every time he’s stepped foot on the Garden floor. We already covered the ‘Double Nickel’ in a previous Sneaker News: Was It The Shoes? segment, but let’s take a stroll back in time to another instance of Jordan’s MSG travels.

We haven’t seen new colorways for the vulcanized version of Paul Rodriguez’ second Nike Skateboarding signature since the P-Rod line dropped its ‘SB’ branding, but we might be seeing the first of this silo being cemented as a modern classic.  The Nike P-Rod 2.5 certainly has more staying power than the hypercolor shirts it seeks to emulate with this new color-changing Black Friday(?) release, which is to say that we can appreciate its lines’ graceful aging process without a twenty year ‘retro’ gap.  These thermoplastic P-Rod 2.5s are expected as a Zumiez-exclusive on Black Friday, but with ‘Thermo’ Dunk Low LR being pushed back until December 1st, might more release date shifting be in store?  Stick with Sneaker News to stay abreast of the latest developments and let us know what you think of this darkly dynamic colorway after you’ve seen more below.

Mike Bibby‘s got PE’s from all over the league, most of his special Air Jordan colorups coming in low-top form. And while this pair is indeed a low top, it doesn’t fit the typical bill in that it’s not an NBA colorway, rather an Olympic outtake from the 2004 Summer Olympic Games in Athens. Bibby ended up with an injury that year and didn’t get to play on that international stage, sort of sweeping this slick player exclusive under the rug of history. Look forward to the Summer season with respect to the Jordan Brand catalog and you’ll realize on thing: it’s gonna be a colorful one. The whole Olympic thing pretty much demands that red, white, blue, gold, and plenty of others be seen on the regular. Sneaking in as the antithesis to all that is this ever so stoic Air Jordan 1 Phat release, a stealthy pair with a simple cool grey on black look up top and a clean white midsole to finish on the bottom. Will you be adding a pair to your rotation to take some time off from the more colorful stuff? Let us know in the comments below and hit up the team at Premier to get this Air Jordan 1 Phat now.
